Meet Dr. Yang
Teresa Yang, D.M.D., M.S.
Teresa Yang, D.M.D., M.S., completed her training in periodontics as the chief resident at the Columbia University Postgraduate Program in Periodontics. During her three-year residency, she completed a Master’s of Science Thesis. Based on her research, she studied the influence of genetics on periodontal disease. The title of her Master’s was “Replication of Gene Polymorphisms Associated with Periodontitis in an Elderly Cohort”. Additionally, Dr. Yang was selected for the Murray Schwartz Scholarship Award in Postdoctoral Periodontics in her first year of training. Dr. Yang graduated cum laude from Harvard University, where she received her B.A. in Human Evolutionary Biology and Psychology. She received her D.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated with Honors in Dentistry for the Care of the Medically Complex, and received the American Academy of Periodontology Award for Outstanding Achievement in Periodontics.
